INT. TALENTLESS AI — AUSTIN, TX

The studiowith brains.

Talentless AI is an AI-native production studio in Austin, Texas. Part creative studio, part experimental lab, part production partner for people who need impossible things made real, fast. We even built this website. With AI. Obviously.

What we believe

We're makers at heart. Writers, directors, artists, editors, technologists, using AI as part of the craft, not a shortcut. The intelligence is artificial. The work is real.

Who we work with

For everyone who suddenly has to be the AI person.

Your client thinks you have this handled. The pitch said AI-powered. The deadline is real, and now somebody has to actually make the thing work.

Maybe AI landed on your desk because nobody else raised their hand. Maybe you're doing it because the brief demanded it, not because you wanted it. That describes most of the industry right now, and there is no shame in it.

Here is the difference that shows up in the work: there is doing AI, and there is loving what you can make with it. We chose this. We have been making things this way since before it was a line item, which means you get a partner who is genuinely excited about your problem instead of one quietly figuring it out on your budget.

So productions bring us in as their AI unit for previz, VFX, trailers, and localization. Agencies plug us in behind their own brand relationships, no logo required. Event producers hand us a stage and get same-day video that looks like it took a month. And when a team wants the capability in-house instead of rented, we teach them how we do it.

If you need the credit, take it. We'll take the interesting problems.

The founder

Steve Mudd

Founder & CEO

Steve is a pioneer in visual AI and one of the most hands-on voices in the industry. The guy other AI guys call when the render won't behave. Winner of the 2026 AI Leadership Award from the Austin AI Alliance, he's directed AI films (THRESHOLD, The Painter), built an original microdrama slate (Backlot74), and keynoted for audiences who wanted the truth about AI instead of the hype. He serves as the AI Expert for Propolis and resident expert for Ragan Communications.

Before all that: wrote, produced, and directed the feature film Seclusion, worked the IBM Watson era at Ogilvy, and led global messaging and content for NetApp. Which is why the work ships on time and the strategy isn't vibes.

The bench

A studio that scales like a production.

Behind the founder is a producer-led bench: writers, animators, AI artists, editors, and engineers we assemble per project, the way a film crews up. Small enough to move fast. Networked enough to go big. You get exactly the team the idea demands, and nobody billing you for bench-warming.

Our collaborators show up where credits belong: on the work. See who did what on any project on the Brand, Media, and Narrative pages.

The other half of the studio

Some teams want the capability, not the vendor.

Plenty of the people who hire us eventually want to do some of this themselves, and we would rather teach them than pretend it is a secret. Same pipeline, same tools, same opinions, handed over.

Where we stand

We wrote it down.

Two documents that say what we actually believe, so you don't have to guess.

THE MANIFESTO
Perfect is boring ↗

Why we exist, in the language we actually use. Creativity is chaos and courage. AI just gave us more hands.

AI POLICY & GOVERNANCE
Our line in the sand ↗

Transparency, then safety, then rights, then accountability. What we will and won't do, in writing.

Let's make something alive.
